2012 CIRA Elections

Postby rsutc » 2012 08 23 0953

Arjay Enterprises owner and award winning author Rick Sutcliffe is running again this year for election to the CIRA (Canadian Internet Registration Authority) board on which he has previously served.

The election has three stages:
1. Nominating Committee nominees have already been chosen. They are listed at
https://elections.cira.ca/2012/nomcomcandidates/list/en

2. Rick Sutcliffe is running in the "member nominee" category. Member nominees need 20 "shows of support" to become official candidates. (Aug 23 to Sept 6, 2012)
The candidates are listed at
https://elections.cira.ca/2012/membernominees/list/en
and there will be a link to the next page where the shows of support can be registered
To decide whether you want to support Rick Sutcliffe, or later to vote for him, see his information at
https://elections.cira.ca/2012/memberno ... ow/1445/en

3. Those getting these in the first round go on the ballot. (Voting in September)

Want to show support or vote for Rick Sutcliffe or for someone else? You must be a CIRA member. If you have at least one .CA domain you can become a member here
https://member.cira.ca/en/member.html

To vote, Members may be required to login using their Member email and password. If you are a member and you haven’t created your Member password, please visit https://member.cira.ca/password/establish/en.

Note that even if you represent many .ca domains as the registrant or technical support person, you may only vote once in either round.

Further to the above message, Rick Sutcliffe did receive the necessary shows of support and is on the final ballot. Thanks to all who supported me in the first round and showed their support. If you want to see your friendly neighbourhood supplier of domains and hosting back on the CIRA board with input into how the .ca domain is run, please vote in the actual election at
https://elections.cira.ca/2012/vote/login/en
from September 19 - 26.
