Why the long delay for more books?

I've received some enquiries about why it's been so long since The Nexus was published and still no sign of The Builder. Simple enough:
- these books are long and complicated
- I have worked on material for both The Builder (#6) and The Throne (#7) which between them complete the story cycle
- I've been quite ill with persistent infections the last three years
- Life has many other pressures.

That all said, the first draft of The Builder is nearing completion. There are only 2 or three more chapters to write, then the editing starts. The Throne is perhaps 25% complete. No promises, but friends and associates may see a draft by September.

(it is now September, so.....

I have spent some time on shorter stories that will eventually make their way into volume seven as a way of getting back into things. It will be a few more months yet before I can send any drafts of volume 6 to friendly readers, and time after that before a draft goes to the editor. What I may send out is drafts of one plot, rather than in the order they will be interwoven in the actual book.
